Fashion and lifestyle expert, Alicia Lund, serves up design inspiration on her website, Cheetah is the New Black. She says, “I love style and I love fashion and I think that comes through in every aspect of my life. I’m happiest when exploring and creating.”

Alicia describes her aesthetic as classic-meets-edgy-bohemian. Her home features a timeless black and white color palette, which she carried through in her recent bathroom update. The creative process started with a mood board. Alicia then turned to Build.com to find tile, hardware, lighting, and a mirror that perfectly matched her vision. “Build.com really helps me pull together items that are a complete reflection of my style. I love that you can search by category and I can really narrow it down and search by color or different chrome and brass options. I found it all very easy.”

Alicia opted for a chrome shower system, faucet, lighting, and accessories. She explains, “Chrome felt modern and also masculine, which is perfect since it will be our son's bathroom and the guest bathroom.” Alicia used matte black floors to anchor the white room, “It feels of-the-moment without being trendy and fits in perfectly with the rest of the house.”

The project provided an opportunity for Alicia to experiment with metal accents. “I used brass hardware and finishes throughout the entire house for interest and a fun pop, but wanted to mix things up a bit with this small bathroom remodel.”
