You’ve probably never given it much thought. You’re in the middle of a kitchen renovation and you have to choose a new sink. But sinks come in a certain number of sizes and shapes. The drain holes are pre-drilled. You just pick one, right? But what if your sink has never quite suited your needs? Maybe you wash a lot of large pans and you’ve never had a sink quite deep enough, or with a drain in the right place. Or perhaps you have need of a seamless transition from drain board to sink. Or maybe you prefer a shallow sink to ease back strain. 

The great news is, Elkay stainless steel sinks are customizable to your needs. The shape, depth, size, and counter transition can all be tailor-made to suit you.

Your unique order starts when you contact a Build.com service representative. You’ll begin with an Elkay stainless steel sink, so you know it’s quality. Next, you can choose to modify an existing Elkay model, a “Specialty Sink” or create an entirely unique design, or “Custom Fabrication.”

Specialty Sinks

Specialty sink orders allow you to make modifications to existing Elkay products. Your sink, chosen from two gauges, 16 or 18; and two types of steel 316 and 304, will be created by die-drawn, machine-driven products. Choose undermount or drop-in, which will determine the rim style. Determine which bowl depth and drain location are best for your needs. Decide on your bowl configuration and designate where to place your faucet, adding an extra if you have need of it.

Custom Fabrications

Available for residential and commercial purposes, custom fabrications are completely made to order! These sinks are made from a single piece of 14 or 16 gauge, type 304 or 316 stainless steel. Think hand-fabricated bowls, scullery and utility sinks, and even sleek sink tops. The beauty of custom fabrications is that they are able to provide a seamless appearance. Design a drain board with efficient drain areas, rims, and return ends (if specified), all in a one-piece construction that is welded, ground, and polished in place.
