The Design House 728303 Passage Knob does not lock and is used in bedrooms, hallways, and other rooms where privacy is not important. Features two, non-locking knobs, one on each side of the door. Designed for left or right hand doors, this knob fits the two most common backsets in the U.S. (2-3/4-inch and 2-3/8-inch). Use this knob on standard 1-3/8-inch and 1-3/4-inch thick doors with a cross bore 2-1/8 in dia. or edge bore 1-1/16 in dia. (1 in. x 2-1/4 in. radius corner faceplate). The Passage Knob is ideal for install on closet, hallway and bedroom doors and not intended for locking purposes. Passage: Passage door hardware has no locking mechanism. Both the interior and exterior handles are always free making it perfect for hallways, closet doors, and anywhere else a lock isn't needed.
