The Design House 190744 Passage Knob does not lock and is used in bedrooms, hallways, and other rooms where privacy is not important. Features (2) non-locking knobs, one on each side of the door. This unit is designed for left or right-hand doors, this knob fits the two most common backsets in the U.S. (2-3/4 inches and 2-3/8 inches). Use this knob on standard 1-3/8 inches and 1-3/4 inches thick doors with a cross bore 2-1/8 inches diameter or edge bore 1-1/16 inches diameter. (1 inch x 2-1/4 inches radius corner faceplate). This passage knob is ideal for installation on closet, hallway, and bedroom doors and not intended for locking purposes.

Passage: Passage door hardware has no locking mechanism. Both the interior and exterior handles are always free making it perfect for hallways, closet doors, and anywhere else a lock isn't needed. Passage door hardware can also be used in conjunction with a deadbolt to secure a back door or entrance.
